Today, is Sunday and I couldn't tell you where the time has gone. Looking for the time necessary to read or write may be hiding under a bush some where. Maybe it is that my time is now being spread further because of my smartphone. The new device takes time just in figuring out how to use it. Oh and then there is the push for marketing my business. So now I'm using twitter. Yes, there goes more time as I sit there and read tweets. Oh, and then there is Linked-in. More time to read the bio's of others in this multimedia arena. It is amazing how much time is spent with labor saving devices.
Then there is the impact of my posture while using all these labor saving devices (notice I no longer mutter the phrase time saving). More and more of us use these complicated devices and become lost in them. We are sitting longer and longer and it is not just about secretary spread but the changes in hip structure, back and neck structure. Core strength just doesn't exist when one is slumped over a computer. More and more of my yoga students spend a great deal of their time on computers. Helping people understand the changes that occur when engaging in our new world.
Looking ahead, I need to be more aware of the demands of our everyday world. Tucson is a city that stretches across the valley floor. Many of the streets don't have sidewalks. The temperatures here make it difficult to walk outside year round. I used to walk miles everyday and then I had a car run over both of my feet and hit the inside of my left leg. Walking has never been the same. Yoga is my saving grace.
